Help with saltwater fishing gear for starting?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m from Iowa and never went saltwater fishing before in my life. I’m going down to Pensacola FL to do some fishing in the gulf this week (probably just off a pier or something, no deepwater stuff) and could use some help with deciding what gear to bring/buy. For example:
Would my graphite pole and baitcast reel with 12 lb mono work for down there?
Will the saltwater corrode my gear?
What kinds of lures are good for gamefish down there?
What are the most common gamefish i might catch?
Any help would be appreciated.

Good saltwater fishing spots in Rhode Island?
Posted by: | CommentsI live near Rhode Island, and I heard they had good fishing spots. I want a good fishing spot where there’s an abundance of fish. I want a saltwater spot, on a coastline (No Ponds, Lakes, etc. Yes oceans.) I want a non polluted spot, so I can eat the fish I catch, if they’re big enough! 
Thanks to whoever helps, Nick. P.S… if you know a spot that’s a bit secretive off of a street… please tell me a description on how to get to the spot. Please don’t give me a spot that is illegal, I don’t want to pay a fine. Thanks!
SHARK FISHING – Adam breaks his rod on a huge skate (or ray?)

Last Friday night we went out shark fishing in the Delaware Bay. Adam hooked us up with some fresh bunker for bait. Kent got us some killer LED lights to help light things up. We went out late (around 11pm) and didn’t get back to the dock until around 5am. It was worth it though. Adam hooked into a huge skate (or ray) (that I estimated to be the size of a car hood). It was so big that it ended up breaking his fishing rod… It was a monster Do you think it is a skate or a ray???
