been getting into surf fishing…did some in Dominican Republic and hooked up with some smaller barracuda…..would like to try and catch some smaller shark while im in Alabama for a week. What kind of gear (rod,reel,line) do you think would be sufficient to catch them. Will prob bring a kayak so i can take my bait out….so really dont want a surf rod. Also what sorts of baits should I use. I see a lot of guys using fresh barracuda.

I’m going on a 6 hour fishing trip and were usually gonna catch sculpin or sock and sand bass but I want to get a bigger fish like a barracuda but I don’t know which jig I should use or should I even use a jig and stick with the bait anyway and I’m gonna be fishing at night from about 6:00pm to 12:30am and I’m gonna have a glow stick attached to my line thanks for the help and please help asap

I’m kind of new to the deep water fishing, so I need some help. I’ve seen guys with Neon Green or Red lines, and am assuming they use it for trolling. I go for Rock fish, barracuda, bass, and many others, so I’m looking for a line that’s kind of Universal. Something I could use for tuna as well and troll for other fish mentioned above. So would the Neon green or red be good? 25-30lbs? and if I’m fishing in shallower water, ill use a clear leader so the fish don’t see the color? any suggestions would be very helpful, thanks.
So the other day i went to visit my grandparents & have dinner at their place.
My grandpa is a fisherman and so their freezer is full of many types of fish.. Salt water fish & fresh water fish.
I’m 7 months pregnant & the thought of eating fish really freaks me out because some fish contain high levels of mercury. When my grandma told me that she was cooking cat fish, it made me feel better since catfish fits into the lowest amount of mercury category. So I ate about 3 small fish tacos..
At the end of the night my grandpa noticed that his bag of barracuda fish was gone, n realized that my grandma cooked barracuda instead of catfish. It was a total accident & my grandma had no idea! I googled barracuda fish & apparently it contains high levels of mercury!!! I cannot stop worrying about it. I’m soo freaked out & I’m constantly wondering what effects it’ll have on my baby! I called my DR & spoke to her about it… She said it’s totally fine as long as It was a one time thing. I still don’t feel reassured. I am so scared & worried.

im wondering if i should get this bow or not. i just got into it and ive had a recurve for 1 and a half years now. i dont know weather or not to spend $400 on this bow. is it a waste of money?
