Has anyone else ever caught 2 fish at one time with 1 hook?

By

I was fishing for bluegill with crickets and I felt the tug, set the hook and reeled in a bluegill and a bass. The hook went through the side of the bluegill’s mouth and somehow it was in the mouth of the bass. That was something to see. It was just a plain hook for bluegill fishing.

Yeah! Isn’t it the best feeling ever?! For me it was just two measly sunnies, but it was still fun.

I caught 2 nice bass at one time while fishing of all things a buzz bait. The first bass hit it and took it under. As I was reeling him in he became very hard to get in. I thought the fish had balled up in a wad of grass. As I got the fish to the boat and tried to pull him out of the water it was just too heavy, and then I saw 2 bass caught on the same hook. The first bass had got hooked in the mouth and when I got them in the boat by using my net I saw the second bass had been foul hooked in the side. It was an all time first for me.

yes, ive had bluegills eaten by bass several times. Also when i ran bank lines sometimes id have a smaller fish on like a small channel cat etc and a flathead would eat that one. It would still be on the line because of the channels fins being stuck in the flatheads throat.

Yeah, it’s happened to me a few times actually. Everytime that it has happened I was throwing top water lures and obviously more than one Bass was wanting it. Top waters are very good at getting the attention of multiple fish.

I bet you that Bass was going for the Bluegill for a little meal. I used to take my little cousins fishing in a pond for Bluegills and had that happen quite a few times actually. I even had a Catfish attack a Bluegill I was reeling in one time.
