Has anyone seen the advertisement for the catfishing secret weapon?

By

It is something that you put into the water that carries a frequency and draws the plankton to the noise, then the bait fish…. then catfish…. I have been searching for baitfish all summer and they are no place to be found…. I have noticed that when I pull up to the ramp to load my boat, shad are swimming around the ramp, then as soon as I get my net together they are gone…. I have been thinking it has something to do with the sound of my motor….. ?? maybe not … Do you think this would work?? It sends out a special frequency… the guy that invented says it was an idea of an ole’ timer from the 40′s… He has it priced at $170… Someone asked a question on here a few days ago about building their own… I have been researching some of this …. what do you think???

It’s hard to say. It would be great if it worked. But it has been my past experiences that most things do not work as advertised , especially when they were not available to buy in any local outlet. If they actually worked there would be a demand for them that any store would be glad to sell them and make a profit off them. So they find other creative ways to advertise and sell their product. I have spent hundreds on products that did not work as advertised. Buyer beware.

I have one of these:

It works by sending electric impulses through the water that disorientate the fish, causing them to float to the surface for a short time.

I can’t say if it works or not because the ex got both of the boats.

It is just an overpriced submersible light in green color. It doesn’t qualify as a scam yet but it is pretty close. :)

Search for “fishing lights” on your favorite search engine and you’ll find similar products at a fraction of the price. Making them is not worth the effort and cost unless you already got parts and tools readily available.

PS: They used to advertise the product as “the best kept fishing secret”. I think someone sued them for false advertisement and won because they no longer used that phrase anymore. :)

Looked at Josh’s catfishstunner. I think it was an automated version of hand cranked magneto. It will work but it might not be legal at all locations.

This thing, is very interesting. Not sure about the availability in the US and the legality though.

It would be very nice if you could just dip that thing in the water and scoop up live baitfish.
