How to thread fishing line through Ambassadeur 4600C4 Reel?
ByHi everyone,
I was wondering if anybody has the Ambassadeur 4600C4 Reel because I received it from my Uncle as a gift but the reel was not set up prior to purchase. This reel is really different to the everyday reels you see and I have no idea how to wind fishing line onto it.
I’ve searched everywhere for the answer to this but can’t seem to find it.
Here are some pictures so it may help:

All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Put the line through the 2 metal guides, tie the line onto the empty spool, and start crankin’ on the line.

Ahh, nice reel. Spooling it is simple. Take your new line and thread it through the guide on the front of the reel (the piece that moves back and forth while reeling). After that simply take the line under your spool then grab it and pull it up to where your can tie a few knots around the spool itself. It can be hard to grab the line from under the spool at times so a small pair of needle nosed pliars can help a lot. Tie your knots tight enough to where it will catch your spool when you go to reel the line on it.

Have you noticed that when you turn the handle of your reel, there is a metal bar spinning with like a little plastic or metal “oval” shaped hole there? Run your new line right into that line, underneath the spool, and then use a simple arbor knot to tie it to the spool. Get someone to keep pressure on your line as you spool your reel.
Oh and yes that C4 is a very nice reel. I wouldn’t mind having a few C3′s or C4′s for myself.
