If i am going to buy 2 rods, one for saltwater (pier and surf fishing) and one freshwater rod, which should i?
Bywhich rod should i spend more of my money on. should i just get a decent combo for freshwater bass fishing and then a good saltwater rod and reel? im not sure.

Saltwater:
Go for tsunami or daiwa emcast 9 feet 2 piece rod. Perfect for surf and pier.
Freshwater:
you have many choices shimano/daiwa/tsunami/fenwick use a 7-8 feet rod.

You could go relatively cheap… Abu Garcia Cardinal with an Ugly Stik Lite for Bass fishing, and a Daiwa Beefstick with a Shakespeare Alpha spinning reel for Pier/Surf fishing.
