If i am going to buy 2 rods, one for saltwater (pier and surf fishing) and one freshwater rod, which should i?

which rod should i spend more of my money on. should i just get a decent combo for freshwater bass fishing and then a good saltwater rod and reel? im not sure.

the shakespeare sturdy stik with tidewater reel conventional reel is good its only 50 bucks but its really good you can find them at your local walmart

Saltwater:

Go for tsunami or daiwa emcast 9 feet 2 piece rod. Perfect for surf and pier.

Freshwater:

you have many choices shimano/daiwa/tsunami/fenwick use a 7-8 feet rod.

You could go relatively cheap… Abu Garcia Cardinal with an Ugly Stik Lite for Bass fishing, and a Daiwa Beefstick with a Shakespeare Alpha spinning reel for Pier/Surf fishing.
