Is my molly fish pregnant? (pictures)?
ByGo to the following link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27766010@N05/?saved=1 and please tell me if you think that the orange molly in the pics looks like she could be pregnant.
In some of the pictures a black spot is visible behind her belly which I beleived to be the gravid spot but I’m not sure. I’m new at this! The black molly is the male.
Please tell me if she is pregnant and when to expect babies. Also, exactly what kind of mollies are these? the tank at the store said “assorted” i beleive so I’m not too sure. Thanks in advance!
Ellen
Yes, I definately know that my white cloud minnow is full of eggs, as is my zebra danio. (I have more than one of each, btw). My molly is getting bigger by the minute and her gravid spot is HUGE now. I’m thinking she may have them within days.

Your white cloud minnow is full of eggs for sure! They are schooling fishes, as are zebra danios, so you need at least 6 of each. If the female has been with the male for more than a hour than she is preggo! Keep in mind, it is better to have 2 females for every male so the females do not get stressed by alwas having a male wanting to mate wiht them.
Good luck, and expect fry in about a month, maybe less!
