Is the fact that fresh and saltwater fish survived the hypothetical flood considered evidence by creationists?
ByGod intelligently designed fish back in those days to be both salt and fresh water adapted?

I’ve never heard that before, but I have read about fish fossils being found on the side of a mountain. That would be a little better evidence.

I couldn’t tell you. Oh, it’s a trick question.

You’d also think that the absolute lack of evidence for a world wide flood (surprising, considering how wide spread it supposedly was) would make one wonder. But hey, they’re Christians. In religion, followers don’t need proof. Except for things which contradict their belief, of course.

How about, the salinity of the water, being infused by so much fresh water, lowered to the point that both fresh and salt water fish could survive in it, until it settled back into normal salt and fresh water after the flood…
Does that work?

Although I don’t consider the flood hypothetical, this is an interesting question. I’m sure there is an answer, but I’ll just have to take it on faith, because I don’t have one.

Gen 6:12 (of the FSM Scriptures) Lo, and the FSM provided the fish with PERCIATELLE (look it up), so that they may breath and not become the stuff of floaty on the water. And the FSM saw that this was good.

Even if somebody wanted to try to use that logic, evolution would still be needed to get us where we are now. Most fresh or saltwater fish won’t survive in the opposite environment, at least not for long.

It’s an allegory, except when it’s to be taken literally. Unless Jesus annulled it. Then it’s not. Unless it is.

I can’t see what all the fuss is about.. I mean…. I bathe in fresh water but bits of me are still kind of salty.

I have been wondering that myself. Also wondering how Noah was able to care for all of the animals that actually did make it onto the ark… such as the 350,000 different species of beetle. My suggestion would be to ask an experienced zookeeper how many people it takes to run a zoo, and how possible it would be for 8 people to care for 2 of each species of animal within a limited amount of space for a length of 40+ days.

Actually, one creationist response I’ve seen here on R&S (and only here) is that “God kept the two kinds of water separate, so that some areas remained salty, while others remained fresh. Also, fish weren’t as sensitive back then.”
I’m not lying.
