@philly442 or if you want to rig it without the weight moving you could use a bobber stop. i prefer the ones without the beads.

@30secfisherman Thank you

the reason for not pegging the wgt is so the fish doesn’t notice resistance. The weight has done it’s job: get the lure to the bottom. If you want to peg the wgt, break off a toothpick in the bottom of bullet.

See answer to previous Q — 2/0 EWG
May 8th, 2011 at 8:06 am
what size hook
May 8th, 2011 at 8:37 am
Can;t go too far wrong with 2/0 Extra Wide Gap (EWG) for plastics;I think it is 54312 Gamakatsu … 2/0 circle hook for Wacky Worm. 1/0 or 3/0 in a pinch.

what size hook do you reccamend for bass?
May 8th, 2011 at 9:10 am
I have had no real problems setting the hook with Texas rig; with wacky worm (e.g., senkos) on a circle hook, you don’t set the hook! Just watch the line/lure move away or feel a weight on your line; by then the fish is hooked! But don’t delay, as an unattended circle hook can gut-hook a fish if swallowed. I have yet to find an easy way to remove circle hooks from a gut-hook fish — the one problem. (BTW, wacky yamasenko is my go-to rig!)

thanks ( im a young beginner fisherman by the way ), I just cant beleive this method works so well i hear, it looks hard to set the hook when you get a bite.

Yes, and I might add (since 20 seconds is really too short!) the distance through the head should match the distance of the offset at the eye of the hook. After pulling the hook through the head, until it is just over the eye, twist and squish the worm up to poke the hook through the body. Extra hint: pull the body of the worm up just a squidge to cover the hook point just a teeny tiny bit.

the first rigging of that bait, did you not put the sharp tip through the body of the bait?

Kahle hooks WERE the goto hooks for cut bait in saltwater, but you have to try circle hooks; as I say in the How to Select Hooks, they are magic. Ask anyone fishing stripers.
Though rare, the biggest problem is letting the hook sit too long, to the extent it can gut-hook the fish; because of its design, it is the hardest hook to disengorge.
After switching, let me know if you used bigger/smaller circle hooks for the equivalent of kahle hookups.

why a circle hook what about kahles? i have circles but i just dont think they would be just as good?
