looking for a good spot to fish for catfish in central Florida?
ByI just moved to winter springs Florida. i want to take my son fishing for catfish. i heard that St. Johns river is a good place. but the river is long and i would like to know where on the river to go. plus any other place (lake, pond or river) that would be good to go for catfish.

Try fishing at Lake Apopka! The catfish are now spawning so it is a good time. But I do not know if that is any closer than St. Johns river but it is worth a try!

Lake Eustis, and Lake Harris on Hi-way 441.
There is a fishing dock in Tavares on 441.
