Been seeing this guy for about 2 months and when we were in the “getting to know you stage” he asked me to go to a concert with him. Well he kind of forgot about it and its this Sat. so I was the one to bring it up. Now the concert is 2 hours away so I suggested we get a hotel and and plan to do other thing around the area and he agreed.
Now he was coming over to my house Friday(today) and we were going to plan the trip. He e-mailed me yesterday saying he and some budies made some last minute plans to go fishing for a couple days and he will not be back till sat morning. He also told me there is no cell phone coverage so he will not be able to call me. I was like WTF?? I think he expects me to make all the arrangements and pay for the hotel. I don’t even know what time he plans on picking me up on Sat. and I can’t even reach him till at least Sat am if not later.
Questions what do you think of this whole last minute “fishing trip” and should I be expected to foot the whole bill?

You are right. The whole idea of a last minute fishing trip is so that he doesn’t need to pay. He is just using you for fun. Guys generally do that. Better you don’t plan out anything and waste any of your money till the time he is back.

Why risk it.. Don’t plan anything, come up with some BS excuse of something you had to do at the last minute too and then the responsibility is out of your hands once again, and he can’t blame you because you have only done exactly what he has done.

The fishing trip sounds fishy. This is kinda cheap behaviour at this stage when normally both the sides involved take utmost care to project their best selves. In this case he is cleverly shifting his part of obligations on to you. As far as I guess the whole tale of fishing is a story that he has made up to suck you. Keep away from such cheap suckers who will on your back wont hesitate to brag how he managed to con you.
