i have that same reel seems like no matter how gentle you put the brakes on it at the end of your cast it still wants to back lash just a little bit
theres is over 100 abu garcia reels
I saw a video here @ Youtube that shows how to install bearings in a garcia instead of the bushings….I am sure that would help your casting a lot.
great to see folks still know how to cast a real reel
can anybody help me put a good rod and a reel together i have a abu garcia but cant get it to throw that far whts a good step up for a begginer, that wants to throw it far
the reel was a daiwa sealine the poll was a break away rod hey that daiwa sealine is it good for conventional reels
was that a daiwa sealine or a penn mag i have a penn mag on a dawia sealine x rod i put ceramic bearings in the reel and took the foam grips off the rod and replaced with the cork wrap that combo isn’t that expensive at all and seems it would easily out cast that set up i can stand on one end zone at the local high school field and cast 75 yards into the parking lot at the other end easily just using a 2oz no roll and 20 pound mono right at 200 yards
hahaha yea i know right. gotta work your way up. i just recently saw some dude cast with his back facing the target and heaved it in a 180. it was nuts.
man Id hate to bird nest casting like that
