two fishing questions? (about perch and bass)?

perch:
i am going on a fishing trip on a lake erie charter boat at wildwood marina in cleavelandin april. any tips before i go?
largemouth bass:
i fish at a small part of tuscawaras river filled with warmouth, catfish, bluegill pumpkinseed, and largemouth. i would like to catch a larmouth with a original floater from rapala. how doo i use it to catch a largemouth?
original floater:
size FO9
color perch
*try jigs? cast it out and reel it in? not very useful at at all. im fishing lake erie, not a pond.i heard minnows work.

How is that not useful? It’s a damn crankbait, how else do you work a crankbait? CAST IT OUT AND REEL IT IN. It’s not going to dive very deep either, try twitching it on the surface. Give the tip of the rod slight jerks to make it dive just under the surface.

for the perch fishing: bring a big cooler your gonna need it
minnows work for perch but not bass
for smallmouths use any type of goby imitations and for walleyes use a nightcrawler on a worm harness

largemouth are not in lake erie itself but live in the many tributaries
