beaver run slams 80 + pound cat fish…i never had any luck on any catfish bait other than chicken liver, but ill try anything…i use trebbles the size of your hand…and i want that stinkbait to try. i use a cat toy and take the bell out of it, stuff the insides with livers, and run the stem of the trebble through the top to a two foot steel leader… that shit rocks.

  3. SlayerODragon says:

    @jcpegg yeah, they actually are

  4. jcpegg says:

@SlayerODragon Yeah, I bet you’re right. They’re probably more attracted to a wad of stinky shit than they are the food they eat everyday.

  5. SlayerODragon says:

@jcpegg maybe you don’t try the right kind? everytime i use stink bait i catch atleast 5 fish, or maybe your just bad

  6. ndgv2 says:

i caught half a dozen 4-6 pounders with stink bait the other night. when i used worms at the same spot i caught nothing. stink bait works.

  7. WINDHAMMAN says:

its cheeper to go to the supermarket buy 7 shrimp w shell for 77 cents-catfish love it stinkbait? how much mula? as opposed to 77 cents?

you decide-think outside the box and save your self some cash

@Xdiablofoolx lots of bait works. dont like dough bait. with chicken liver cut it into inch or two chunks with scissors, you tear livers up if not careful with hands. use a medium to large treble hook and get it on there good. let it sit on the bottom or use a bobber.. good tips know the water your fishing, tie knots well, use the right bait..most often the oldest kind of bait is the best, calm down and wait

im 27 been fishing since i could throw a line and i have never caught a cat with stink bait. hotdogs chicken liver worms crayfish and minnows or small goldfish work just fine. small goldfish are awesome because they are brightly colored and cheap and you can buy them at walmart

    i agree with jcpegg ,

  11. wwjjgg7325 says:

try magic bait dough bait in midsummer, anything but the shrimp kind. all the other kinds catch channel cats right and left. live bait tends to work better in the spring and fall (i say this from experience)

You want to know a good catfishing tip? Don’t sell out to a commercial business. Douche bag.

Catfish find food by smell, correct. If it smells like ass, they probably wouldn’t eat it. Would you? Why not go for fresh bait that hasn’t been sitting in a can, for 6 months, on a hot store shelf?

  13. amaricanbadass says:

    stink bait dose not work

  14. 34Paperclips says:

chicken liver is the way to go

  15. rednecksniper1138 says:

My grandpa makes his own and he use to drop hot dogs in it and to gettem out you had to reach in for’em. My hands stunk for days

  16. bottleroket90 says:

i used stink bait this past weekend and reeled in some 5-8 pound cats in 4 hours

  17. rrswain1 says:

stink bait sucks. hotdogs are the way to go just caught a 20in 5lb8oz channel catfish in missouri lastnight. fished stink bait for 2 hours no bites. threw in a hotdog 30 mins later was pullin that beauty out of the river.

  18. nicknackfatsack says:

you know what else will catch catfish? take a stink pickle run a hook through it. it has to be a fresh one right out of a toilet. hahaha

  19. GotGame3636 says:

bad thing with stink bait is you have to reel in every 20 mins or so and put more stink bait on your line.

  22. FByhslaw says:

@Xdiablofoolx sometimes more is better but it depends on what the fish like and what they like to eat!!!

  23. FByhslaw says:

@jcpegg they do but get chicken livers and fish with a float or on the bottom and dinner tonight

  24. xxdeadsightxx says:

@little5feet cut bait can work to stink bait never works

  25. Xdiablofoolx says:

So using chicken liver is good? I’m new to fishing so I am trying to figure out all the good baits and techniques. But when fishing catfish do you just let it sit on the bottom for a while because that I think is what the cat fish like. Also for bait is it a good idea to use multiple baits on a hook such as worms, chicken liver, stinkbait, or should you just use one bait? Also the dough work well?
