Why create a weak spot by tying a blood knot in the middle? First off I fish braided line and I can see when its getting old and worn. when its time to change I pull the end of the line down the eyes of another pole and tie off to the spool. then I reel the line off one rod and onto the other. This leaves me with 1 solid piece of line with the old on the bottom of the reel were I seldom see it and new line on top.

what happens when you break off like 30 yards, you go to cast, and that knot juts out of your reel and diminishes your cast distance replace it again? seems like that would make you replace those 50 yds. so often that it would defeat the purpose.

Hey there!
I’ve tried quite a bunch of stuff, but in the end I caught most of my fish on one lure: A Mepps Black Fury no:2 (it goes for 5.99$ around here). Vary your retrieve speed and twitch it sometimes. Bass can’t seem to resist it but I’ve also caught walleye, panfish, perch, pike…
If you are cautious and smooth you can avoid snagging. I still have my blackfury from 10 years ago. I now fish with a replacement so as not to lose it after so many memories ;o)
Tight lines my friend.

If I only had $15-30 to spend, what lures or soft baits would you guys suggest for purchase? I’m going for mostly bass and panfish. Anything that can catch multiple species actually. Any help?
