I love fishing and we just watched a show with this guy going fishing in brooklyn he was fishing close to peers and barges and catching some keepers. The people he was asking on the street where to go most said they never fished there.
OMG. You have to go to the pier on 58th street towards 1st avenue. A lot of people go there to fish on the weekends. I’ve been a few times and it is soo relaxing. The view is also very amazing. You can see Brooklyn (of course), Manhattan, Queens (though it is far), Staten Island, New Jersey, and Ellis Island. The Statue of Liberty is also visible. But you will definetly enjoy fishing there! Also, bring a cooler with some snacks and a good book, you’ll have a ton of fun and the sea air is so invigorating. Good luck!!
Feel free to e-mail me if you don’t find the place, i’ve been there a lot so I’d be able to help you!
Not in Brooklyn, but in nearby queens a lot of people fish from the Addabo bridge by cross bav blvd. You could get there from the A train to Rockaway Blvd. where you can get a bus to take you the rest of the way. The 41, 21 or 53.
In Brooklyn you could go to Riis Park, but you might have to walk down a bit toward Fort Tilden to the East. Or they have party boats in Sheepshead Bay

Uh, the water is so polluted, you don’t want to go fishing anywhere in NYC.
