what type of fishing pole should i get?
Bythis summer my sister and i want to go fishing. we’ve both been fishing before so we know the basics but we wanted to buy poles. we don’t plan on doing any hardcore fishing just at some local creeks. we were planning on getting some poles from walmart but didn’t know what type of poles to get. im hoping some of you guys can help me!
so if you could help me with any information on what kind, size, ect i would appreciate it!
thanks in advance!

As John said, you can get a very light weight ugly stick from wal-mart that will cover all of your pond/creek/lake needs. Here…
It is smaller than the 6’6 John was talking about, and you can go with that length, but this pole is very durable and the one depicted should be more than adequate for up to 8 pound fish.

i would get a medium action rod (it usually says the action on the rod just before the handle) and a spin-casting reel (the ones with the push buttons) you don’t need anything expensive for starting i would recommend zebco they sell those at walmart and they are pretty good

Zebco 33 combo will be good for most fish –
And the Ugly Stik combo is good too –
Happy fishing.
