If you are trying to save your hook, point your rod towards the snag and pull on the line directly with a couple of hard tugs. I give you about a 30% you will be able to save the hook.

If your in a boat let you line loose and go backward over the snag, often this will un-hook your hook.
another trick (sometimes works) is to pull really hard, and let it go with a snap causing the hook or lure to pop backwards.
Sometimes there is no saving it though, sorry to say it happens. I lost a nice worm rig this past weekend.

ues a paperclip and a heavy bell sinker. paper clip the bell sinker to to your line, and let it slide down to the snag, a couple of good bumps with your rop should free the lure. BnM poles that 90% of thr rod tips that are broken are done by poking at the lure with the rod tip
