Why are these wimps on the Gulf Coast whining and crying due to oil spill?
By adminWhy dont they face up to the situation that their fishing and tourism business is kaput for a few months and instead of moaning and crying for the cameras, look for a regular job in another industry even if that requires a move. That is what most Americans have had to do in the recession. Adjust to the conditions. They are all waiting around for the government to give them charity.

You really don’t know how hard it is to find jobs at the moment do you .?!
People will die due to poisoned fish .. Which means no food or food poisoning .. Also this will cripple villages and people for months on end .. And the oil spill looks as though it’s never gonna stop ..
So stop being stupid .. And FEEL SORRY FOR THEM..

Well gee, on the Gulf Coast, fishing and tourism jobs ARE regular jobs and a regular industry. THAT’S why they’re “whining and crying”; Pittsburg has steel, Detroit has cars, Silicon Valley has computers and the Gulf Coast has fishing and tourism. Telling them to just up and move like it’s no big deal shows how much of a d*ck you are.

Because they know there are no other jobs in other industries? You can’t adjust if there is no room for adjustment.Reality check?

Couldn’t agree more, all the hand wringing in the world is not going to stop the oil coming ashore so the only thing left is get on with cleaning it up or whinge about how bad they have it, seems they are opting for the latter, and as for feeling sorry for them? I surely do, but that’s not going to clean up the oil is it?

This poor dog here has me feeling sorry for it. (I don’t want it to look at me with those big brown eyes.)
Perhaps some of them are hurting and whining but have plan B’s that don’t involve the government. Crying helps sometimes as long as it is done toward God and not government.
I agree that we may have to move or switch industries.

Well that is certainly an interesting take on the problem and kind of a cold , impersonal one as well. Unemployment is still alive and well and many people cannot just up and find another job. If you have been a shrimp fisherman all of your life and don’t have any other skill then it isn’t easy to go and find some other work. I wish life were like that. Some of these people are now finding themselves in dire situations and need a hand out. No they don’t like to ask for welfare I am sure and they are just as proud as you are. So for them to ask is difficult. This situation is different from the usual ner-do -wells that live on welfare. Here is a tragedy and they need all the help we can give them. So the next time you go out to dinner and want shrimp salad and it isn’t available you’ll be reminded that some folks would have loved to have given it to you and cannot.

for the same reason others will when the price of oil increases, their business will go kaput and that will include industry. This is the end of cheap oil in the USA.

Your the kind of person I wish owned one of those million dollar fishing boats, making 5 grand monthly payments on it – looking at a situation that could last at least a couple of years after what we are now learning about the extent of the oil spill and wondering what in the hell can you do.
